說起民進黨內擁有結實六塊肌好身材的人，莫過於身兼民進黨發言人的台北市議員王閔生，這位外表斯文的議員，在接受《NOWnews今日新聞》專訪時表示，好身材都是為了要衝浪，「要掌控好的浪，肌力要夠好」，而「若能衝到好的浪，會讓人深受感動」。

對於自己的好身材，王閔生說，都是為了自己熱愛的衝浪運動；提起衝浪，王閔生全身帶勁，他回憶2003年與衝浪初相逢時的情景表示，當年與大學同學一起去墾丁去玩，因為沒有錢而住進衝浪民宿，除了住宿外還外加教授衝浪，一向愛玩水及游泳的他，便因此愛上刺激性強的衝浪。

迷上衝浪的王閔生說，他不但經常跑到墾丁衝浪，還買了一整套的衝浪配備，並且一路玩到現在；不過因為墾丁路途遙遠，後來便改在宜蘭烏石港進行衝浪，只是從政後，能去衝浪的時間越來越少，近3年幾乎未曾再觸及衝浪運動，而改以游泳取代。

一向運動細胞很強的王閔生提起衝浪，言談中便泛露出生命的光芒。他經驗十足的表示，衝浪最好的季節是11月，因為天氣較涼不會那麼熱；他初學時因為對衝浪十分著迷經常跑墾丁，「有一個暑假幾乎每周都去報到」。

他指出，自己擔任台北縣長蘇貞昌機要時，都是偷偷跑去住一個晚上，隔天又趕回來台北，後來找到比較近的烏石港後就經常去衝浪，有時一周會去2、3次；蘇貞昌還曾公開說過，「難怪有時都找不到王閔生，原來他都在海邊」，顯示王閔生對衝浪愛之深。
